PVCC cannot guarantee course frequency; however, to aid in student planning, courses typically are offered as indicated below.

SPA 101 Beginning Spanish I (F, Sp, Su, 4 cr)

Introduces understanding, speaking, reading and writing skills and emphasizes basic Spanish sentence structure.

Lecture 4-5 hours per week. May include one additional hour of oral practice per week.

SPA 102 Beginning Spanish II (F, Sp, Su, 4 cr)

Introduces understanding, speaking, reading and writing skills and emphasizes basic Spanish sentence structure.

Prerequisite: Completed SPA 101.

Lecture 4-5 hours per week. May include one additional hour of oral practice per week.

SPA 163 Spanish For Health Professionals I (F, Sp, Su, 3 cr)

Introduces Spanish to those in the health sciences. Emphasizes oral communication and practical medical vocabulary. May include oral drill and practice.

Lecture 3 hours per week.

SPA 164 Spanish for Health Professionals II (Sp, Su, 3 cr)

Introduces Spanish to those in the health sciences. Emphasizes oral communication and practical medical vocabulary. May include oral drill and practice.

Lecture 3 hours per week.

SPA 201 Intermediate Spanish I (F, Sp, 3 cr)

Continues to develop understanding, speaking, reading and writing skills.

Prerequisite: Completed SPA 102 or placement test.

Lecture 3-4 hours per week. May include one additional hour of oral practice per week.

SPA 202 Intermediate Spanish II (Sp, Su, 3 cr)

Continues to develop understanding, speaking, reading and writing skills. Prerequisite: Completed SPA 201. May include oral drill and practice.

Lecture 3-4 hours per week. May include one additional hour of oral practice per week.
