GOL 105 Physical Geology (F, Sp, 4 cr)
Introduces the composition and structure of the earth and modifying agents and processes. Investigates the formation of minerals and rocks, weathering, erosion, earthquakes and crustal deformation.
Lecture 3 hours. Laboratory 3 hours. Total 6 hours per week.
GOL 106 Historical Geology (F, Sp, Su, 4 cr)
Traces the evolution of the earth and life through time. Presents scientific theories of the origin of the earth and life and interprets rock and fossil record.

GOL 111 Oceanography I (F, Sp, 4 cr)
Examines the dynamics of the oceans and ocean basins. Applies the principles of physical, chemical, biological and geological oceanography. Part I of II.
Lecture 3 hours. Laboratory 3 hours. Total 6 hours per week.
GOL 299 Supervised Study (F, Sp, 2 cr)
Assignment of problems for independent study incorporating previous instruction and supervised by the instructor.
Prerequisite: 8 credits of college level geology and instructor permission
