Tap Dance Master Class Nov. 23
Charlottesville, VA -Piedmont Virginia Community College continues its Dance Master Class series with a tap dance class taught by Geri Carlson Sauls, faculty member at Brushwood's School of Dance in Gordonsville. The class is from noon until 2 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 23, in the Main Stage Theatre of the V. Earl Dickinson Building.
The class will focus on improving current tap dance skills and learning new ways to interpret the standard tap steps. The class is for all levels of dancers, ages ten and above with all levels of experience. Tap shoes are not required. Participants should be dressed comfortably and come ready to move.
Sauls received her tap dance teaching certification from the American Tap Dance Institute and has choreographed and performed in more than 25 musicals. She has trained extensively with many master tap and jazz teachers such as Jason Samuels Smith, Sam Weber, Chris Baker, Charles McGowan and Cathy Roe. Her most recent projects include choreographing "The Producers" at Live Arts in Charlottesville and directing "Stepping Out" and "Annie" for Four County Players community theater in Barboursville.
