PVCC Dance Presents 'Simplicity' May 1-4
Charlottesville, VA - Piedmont Virginia Community College's dance program presents its annual spring concert May 1-3 at 7:30 p.m. and May 4 at 2:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. in the Maxwell Theatre (Black Box) in the V. Earl Dickinson Building. Tickets are $5 general admission.
"Simplicity" will feature original choreography by PVCC dance students and dance faculty Julia Vessey and Carrie Pledger. Contemporary, hip-hop, salsa and jazz are on the program. The concert also includes a collaborative piece by PVCC students and guest choreographer Shannon Hummel, artistic director of Cora Dance in Brooklyn, N.Y. "Destinations" was created during Hummel's residency at the College earlier this year and was well received at the American College Dance Festival at the University of Massachusetts Amherst in March.
Tickets are available by calling the PVCC Box Office at 434.961.5376 and charging them to a VISA or MasterCard, or by purchasing them at the PVCC Box Office window two hours before the performance.
There is limited seating in the Maxwell Theatre and no late seating will be allowed.
