Student Art Exhibit Opens April 19
Charlottesville, VA - The annual exhibit of works by Piedmont Virginia Community College art students opens with a reception on Friday, April 19, from 5-7 p.m. in the PVCC Gallery.
Although this is the eighth anniversary of this event, the opening reception has always been referred to as the 7th Annual Chocolate Chowdown and features chocolate for all in attendance. The exhibit will remain in the PVCC Gallery until Aug. 28.
The nonjuried group exhibition is open to all PVCC students who have taken an art class during the current academic year. Each student is limited to two pieces. The media include painting, printmaking, drawing, ceramics, sculpture and graphic design.
Gallery hours are Monday-Thursday from 9 a.m.-10 p.m., Friday from 9 a.m.-6 p.m. and Saturday from 1-5 p.m. until May 18. Summer gallery hours from May 20-Aug. 23 are 8 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday-Thursday, Friday 8 a.m. - noon, closed Saturday and Sunday.
The PVCC Gallery is located in the V. Earl Dickinson Building for Humanities and Social Sciences. Exhibits throughout the year feature local and regional artists, as well as PVCC art faculty and students.
