Free Movie Feb. 22: The Master
Charlottesville, VA - Piedmont Virginia Community College's Student Art Club continues its popular Free Movie Friday series with the film The Master on Feb. 22 at 7:30 p.m. in the Main Stage Theatre of the V. Earl Dickinson Building.
In The Master, a World War II Navy veteran suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder arrives home from war unsettled and uncertain of his future until he is tantalized by a philosophical movement known as The Cause and its charismatic leader. Soon though, he begins to question the belief system and its leader as the organization grows and gains a fervent following.
Directed by Paul Thomas Anderson (Punch-Drunk Love, Boogie Nights), The Master stars Joaquin Phoenix and Philip Seymour Hoffman. Both actors received Oscar and Golden Globe nominations for Best Performance by an Actor for their roles. The film is rated R by the Motion Picture Association of America for sexual content, graphic nudity and language.
PVCC's Student Art Club sponsors Free Movie Friday on the big screen in the comfortable and spacious Main Stage Theatre in the V. Earl Dickinson Building. No tickets are required.
