Family-Friendly Comedian Jan. 26
Charlottesville, VA - Piedmont Virginia Community College presents family-friendly comedian Akintunde on Saturday, Jan. 26, at 7:30 p.m. on the V. Earl Dickinson Main Stage. Tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for students and seniors.
Hilarious, bold, fresh and groundbreaking are words frequently used to describe comedian Akintunde. His performances combine family appeal with a modern edginess that translates to all audiences.
Akintunde has written for the television series It's Showtime at the Apollo, comedians Monique and Chris Tucker, and the 2006 BET Awards. He has appeared on The Word Network, TBN, The Gospel Music Channel, the Stellars Awards and BET's Comicview and has been featured in many national comedy tours. He released his live comedy DVD The Truth, The Whole Truth, and Nothing But in May 2012.
Tickets are available by calling the PVCC Box Office at 434.961.5376 and charging them to a VISA or MasterCard, or by purchasing them at Plan 9 Music, Sidetracks, University of Virginia Arts Box Office, Greenberry's Coffee (Barracks Road Shopping Center) and the PVCC Cashier's Office during normal business hours. Tickets can also be purchased at the PVCC Box Office window up to two hours before the performance.
The Dickinson Building is located at the south end of College Drive, and ample, free parking is located in front of the building. The Main Stage Theatre offers comfortable and spacious seating and is wheelchair and stroller accessible. All ages are welcome.
