Charlottesville, VA - Piedmont Virginia Community College's Student Art Club continues its popular Free Movie Friday series Oct. 26 with the award-winning film Beasts of the Southern Wild at 7:30 p.m. in the Main Stage Theatre of the V. Earl Dickinson Building.
Beasts of the Southern Wild follows Hushpuppy, an intrepid six-year-old girl who lives with her father, Wink, in "the Bathtub," a southern Delta community at the edge of the world. Faced with both her hot-tempered father's fading health and melting ice caps that flood her ramshackle bayou community and unleash ancient wild cattle, Hushpuppy must learn the ways of courage and love to prepare her for the unraveling of the universe and a time when Wink is no longer there to protect her.
