Friday, Sept. 7 - The Great Kaplan: Comedy Fun for the Whole Family

The Great KaplanCharlottesville, VA - David Kaplan, juggler, magician, inventor, musician and deadpan physical comedian brings his one-man variety show to the V. Earl Dickinson Main Stage Theatre at Piedmont Virginia Community College on Friday, Sept. 7, at 7:30 p.m. Ticket prices are $15 for adults and $10 for seniors and students.

Since the early eighties, Kaplan has delighted audiences of all ages with his highly original act. Inviting the audience into the humor is the focus of the show. Whether he's juggling bean bag chairs, playing a melody on "concert balloon," or defying the laws of physics with a bowling ball, Kaplan's preposterous blend of dazzling skill and shameless gimmickry is fun for the entire family.

Kaplan's most notable shows include a recent performance as guest 'balloonist' with the Columbus Symphony Orchestra and television appearances on ABC TV's "The View" and "The Statler Brothers Show" on TNN. He has also opened shows for numerous renowned performers including Steven Wright, Dennis Miller, David Spade, Leon Redbone, David Brenner, Harry Blackstone Jr. and the Smothers Brothers.

Tickets are available by calling the PVCC Box Office at 434.961.5376 and charging them to a VISA or MasterCard, or by purchasing them at the following Charlottesville locations: Greenberry's Coffee (Barracks Road Shopping Center), Sidetracks (218 West Water Street) or the University of Virginia Arts Box Office (109 Culbreth Road).
