PVCC Commencement at John Paul Jones Arena This Friday
Charlottesville, VA - Piedmont Virginia Community College will hold its 39th annual commencement ceremony on Friday, May 11, at 6 p.m. at John Paul Jones Arena, located at 295 Massie Road in Charlottesville. The 2012 graduating class numbers approximately 569.
University of Virginia President Teresa A. Sullivan will address PVCC's graduating class and their guests.
Student speaker for the graduates is Ryan W. Whitney, honors student and president of PVCC's Alpha Epsilon Tau chapter of Phi Theta Kappa (PTK), the international honor society for two-year colleges. Whitney will receive an Associate of Science degree in business administration, magna cum laude. He has been accepted to U.Va.'s McIntire School of Commerce and plans to pursue a career in finance, investment banking or corporate law.
A concert by the Charlottesville Municipal Band begins at 5:30 p.m. preceding the commencement program.
All PVCC commencement activities are open to the public.
