Free Movie Friday: The Artist, April 27

Charlottesville, VA - Piedmont Virginia Community College's Student Art Club continues its popular Free Movie Friday series April 27 with The Artist at 7:30 p.m. in the Main Stage Theatre of the V. Earl Dickinson Building.

Winner of the 2012 Oscar for Best Motion Picture, The Artist is a French romantic comedy drama in the style of a black-and-white silent film. The story takes place in Hollywood, between 1927 and 1932, and focuses on the relationship of George Valentin, an older silent film star, and rising young actress Peppy Miller as silent cinema falls out of fashion and is replaced by the talkies.

The Dickinson Building is located at the south end of College Drive, and ample, free well-lit parking is located in front of the building. The Main Stage Theatre offers comfortable and spacious seating and is wheelchair accessible.
