The First Quadrant opened the first day of the fall semester August 27, 2012. The First Quadrant is the brand new math tutoring center and is located in the main building room 253. The center is equipped with 66 computers with required software programs for math courses. The center has 13 tutors that cover a wide range of math, science, and technology courses.
Courses Tutored in the First Quadrant:
- Developmental Math
- Credit Math
- Physics
- Chemistry
- Biology
- Accounting
- Economics
- Computer science
- Nursing
Additionally, the First Quadrant has:
- Computers to access math software programs (Hawkes, WebAssign, MyMathLab)
- All required resources for students in MTE courses who are required to visit the First Quadrant
- Private space for small study groups
- Workshops to review various math topics (to be announced)
PVCC students can walk into the First Quadrant to see a math tutor at any time. Appointments are also available for various subjects.
First Quadrant Hours:
Mon-Thurs: 8:30 a.m.-8 p.m.
Fri: 8:30 a.m.-2 p.m.
Sat: 9 a.m.-1 p.m.
