Part-time(16-28) hours per week. Various shifts are available with some flexibility in scheduling provided.
Monitor grounds and buildings make rounds to ensure safety and security of students, facilities and faculty and staff personnel. Respond to emergencies and take appropriate actions. Documents incidents that occur on Campus. Be a liaison between local authorities and college personnel, and student population, and maintain above objectives when supervisor is not available or when you're on your assigned shift.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Monitor and make rounds to ensure safety and security of facilities and personnel. Typical duties: lock and unlock College buildings, doors, classrooms ; provide visitors, faculty and staff with information and directions to campus buildings and classrooms and off campus areas; report suspicious persons, activities or safety hazards found during tour of duty; maintain accurate records and logs of activity; operate security & state vehicles; respond to complaints and make preliminary investigations. Answer alarms and disturbances. Contact Police, Fire & Rescue in case of an emergency and following established college emergency procedures. Patrol among visitors, patrons, or employees to preserve order and protect property. Answer phones in a professional manner and take messages, and provide limited information when necessary. Patrol Parking Lots and issue warnings to persons of rule infractions or law violations, write tickets for parking violations, and evict violators from premises if necessary. Escort or drive motor vehicle, or golf cart to transport individuals to specified location or to provide personal protection. Give limited aid during motor vehicle troubles. Monitor and check fire & safety devices. And any other assigned duties as given. Officers must be accountable for their actions and dependable in their attendance and should demonstrate these characteristics through their dutiful attendance of all scheduled Shifts and appointments. Officers also must be available for contact in any emergencies that may arise.
- Possess good judgment, discretion, excellent interpersonal skills.
- Must be computer literate (MS Word or equivalent, Outlook, etc.) High school graduation or equivalent.
- Three years of post-high school experience. Have a valid driver's license and good driving history.
- Successfully pass a background review, including criminal history and driving history.
- Able to obtain and maintain CPR/AED and First Aid certification. Have basic knowledge of campus environment and/or security industry, relevant laws, and safety and fire prevention.
Prior experience in Criminal Justice or related field OR two year's law enforcement experience in lieu of education from which comparable knowledge, skills, and abilities have been achieved. Two years law enforcement/security experience. Valid driver's license. First aid/CPR certification or ability to obtain. Demonstrated strong student orientation and customer focus. A strong service orientation and a demonstrated ability to work in a diverse, multicultural community, and excellent written and verbal skills.
