Apply online now using the Virginia Community College System's application. After completing your application, you will receive a student ID number and username on your confirmation page. Print this page or write down this information for your records.

checkbox STEP 3:  TAKE PLACEMENT TESTS.
Students planning to apply for financial aid or pursue a degree or certificate at PVCC requiring math or English courses must take placement tests. These tests are administered in your high school or in the Testing Center at PVCC. See hours of operation. There is no fee to take the placement tests. Possible exemptions from taking some or all of the placement tests include:
  • SAT scores (within two years) of at least 520 in math and/or 520 in English
  • Certain ACT scores (consult with Admissions & Advising Center)
  • Successful completion of certain college-level math and/or English courses
  • AP test scores of 3 or higher in English and/or math

We encourage all degree- and certificate-seeking students to apply for financial aid. Financial aid may come in the form of grants, scholarships, loans and work-study positions. The first step is to complete the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) online. To obtain your maximum eligibility, it is best to complete the FAFSA prior to March 31 of the year you plan to attend PVCC, but you may apply after this date.
